Chester Valley Trail
Construction Commences

After years of planning and design, the construction of the Chester Valley Trail commenced on September 20. Reviewing plans for the trail at Route 401 in East Whiteland Township are (from left) Arora & Associates Project Engineer Jeff Case, and County Commissioners Carol Aichele, Terence Farrell and Kathi Cozzone.

The initial four-mile segment being constructed now will be completed in August 2010. A second phase, of some 8 miles, will run from Route 29 to the Trail connection in Montgomery County at Warner Road, and will be constructed in 2011. The Trail will ultimately connect to the Schuylkill River Trail eastward to Philadelphia and the Struble Trail westward in Downingtown.
